24th FIA EUROPEAN TRAFFIC EDUCATION CONTEST TAKES PLACE IN TURKU, FINLAND

Through the FIA European Traffic Education Contest the FIA encourages its member clubs to improve traffic education and promote children’s safety on roads.

We are pleased to inform you that in 2009 the 24th FIA European Traffic Education Contest will be hosted by Autoliitto, Automobile and Touring Club of Finland. FIA Technical Committee decided in its meeting on August 10, 2008 in Turku, Finland, that the contest will take place in Turku from September 11 to 14, 2009. Turku gave a very functional overall impression; Turku City and Holiday Club Caribia with its built-in sports and exhibition hall. The new mascot of the contest, duck called VAAKKU, wishes all school girls and boys a safe journey to school.
